St. Peter's: a Student Perspective
I have been studying Occupational Therapy at Derby University. The concept of looking for a new church in a new city was exceptionally daunting. There was also an issue of how other students would respond to my beliefs, as I perceived that going to church would not be seen as "cool". However I found a friend that shared my beliefs, and with this support I went to look for a church. I tried one or two, and then I found St. Peter's.
As I entered the church there was the most warm and friendly welcome. Everyone spoke to me, making me feel I had been going there for years! I was always asked how my studies were going and offered support, which gave me strength to carry on and deal with the stress that came with the course. St. Peter's also helped me explore my faith and beliefs, and without this my faith would not have progressed and be a strong as it is now.
I would say from a student's perspective that St. Peter's offers support and guidance for students and involvement with church activities, I participated in the Alpha Course and 'Coffee Pot' on a Saturday morning.
So, thank you to St. Peter's for all their support, I have now graduated, and already miss the many friendships I made.
